For most of my life I’ve struggled with being loved. It’s not that I haven’t been loved. In fact, I grew up in a loving family, have a loving husband, and experience the love of my kids.
It’s not that I haven’t been loved. The struggle has been receiving love.
“I am beloved” became a mantra of mine after reading the book of Hosea. His wife, whom I have no life experiences to share as point of identification, struggled with the same thing I do. She couldn’t receive love. And it broke her. Through her story, God showed me that “I am beloved.”
My name is Amanda. I’m a Pastor’s wife. I’m a mom of three kids. I teach middle school in North Carolina.
More than that, I am beloved by Jesus. And that… that is what is defining me.
